This past week..

Last Friday we finished up the Mapping Unit.  This unit consisted of learning about various types of maps (physical, political, climatic, vegetation, ect), longtitude/latitude, and time zones.  The test was given on Tuesday, September 25th.  Wednesday we went to the computer lab and each of the classes worked on Study Island.  If your son or daughter needs extra credit this nine weeks, they can get it from Study Island.  Each blue ribbon = 2 Extra credit points.  Today, we completed a starter quiz and we moved into learning about foreign phrases.  Tomorrow (Friday), each student will be making a brochure using all of the 8 foreign phrases we learned today!

What is coming up..

Progress Reports were issued yesterday, September 13th.  This is the halfway point of the first 9 weeks.

Each student has chosen a book to read for their book report.  I took each class to the library a week and a half ago to choose a book.  The book reports are due on Wednesday, September 19th.  I have given them a paper that tells them exactly what needs to be on there paper.

On Monday, they will have a short quiz on the coordinates.  I have told them about this and they have a sheet with exactly what they need to study.
